Plaisir de Merle is renowned for its international award winning wines.

Over the years it has won gold medals at the Swiss International Wine Awards, the Gastronomy Festival in Quebec City Cup of Nations, the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles (Bordeaux) as well as silver at the Decanter World wine Awards, the Selections Mondiales des Vin Canada, the Wine and Spirit Asia Challenge, the Mundus Vini in Germany and the International Wine & Spirit Competition.  On the local front Plaisir de Merle received the National Certificate for the Top Cabernet Franc and Paarl District Terroir Award at the 2010 Terroir Awards – for its Cabernet Franc 2007.

The Plaisir de Merle range consists of a Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, a Merlot, a Shiraz and the signature Grand Plaisir. Other special release wines and rare export cultivar wines are available on a limited basis from the cellar only.

Cost: R 20 per person

Duration: 1 hour

Times available: Plaisir de Merle is open for tasting and wine sales from Mondays to Fridays from 09h00 to 17h00 and on Saturdays from 10h00 to 16h00 from November to March and from 10h00 to 14h00 during the winter months (April to October). The tasting facility and wines sales are open on Public Holidays but closed on Christmas Day, Good Friday and New Year’s Day.
